ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Molly (or Mae, which I have used as a penname for many years). For those of you who don't know me, I am an editor who absolutely loves for books (like, I read on average 75 books a year), and with over five years of editorial experience, I now help authors bring their stories to life.

Fun fact! I actually stumbled into editing by accident. I began by casually helping a many of my friends on booksta with their drafts, and to my absolute shock, I fell in love with the work. That experience eventually led me to a publishing company where I spent much of my time hyper focused on work like Developmental and Line editing. This gave me a huge base of understanding and knowledge to become an accomplished editor.

Now, I’m finally taking the leap into freelancing for the first time — something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. I'm honestly really excited to finally be able to apply and bring all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained from my background.

From my hands on education, I now specialize in developmental and line editing, but I’ve also done quite a bit of beta and alpha reading. No matter the project, I focus on helping authors strengthen their story while keeping their voice at the heart of every sentence.

While I work with many genres, I must confess that I have a soft spot for fantasy — whether it’s a high fantasy, a cozy fantasy a low fantasy...etc., that genre holds a special place in my heart since it's the genre that got me into reading.
Lastly, and probably most importantly, I don't and will never use AI, in the rise of a world where this issue has become quite prevalent, I will not work with it and even include it within my contract. The safety of your creativity is of utmost importance. Every comment, suggestion, and piece of feedback comes directly from me, not a machine. I believe stories deserve a human touch, and the connection between me as an editor and you as an author is what not only makes the work meaningful, but also real and honest.

Editing isn’t just my job, it’s my passion. I live to collaborate with authors, and I hope to work with you one day!
